Our Story
Ask AI was founded in 2016 by Chris McLellan, a marketing professional who had attended a University of Toronto talk on machine learning, recognized its potential to reshape industries and professions far beyond his own, and decided to create a platform to answer questions about this fascinating and disruptive technology.
What started as a series of sold-out events that showcased founders from pioneering Canadian AI startups soon branched out to include a podcast and newsletter. In 2020, Ask AI began focusing more more directly on AI and the future of work, a change was catalyzed by the advent of Generative AI and Agentic AI.
Since its inception, many talented volunteers, advisors, guests, and contributors have helped build Ask AI into a respected and trusted source of independent information that helps people navigate the opportunities and risks associated with this transformational technology.
