  • Why Ask AI?
Professional leadership is about associating yourself with people, experiences, and initiatives that add value. Ask AI has been featuring AI thought leaders since 2017 and we're known for unpacking the issues related to increased AI adoption. Collaborating with an independent nonprofit also adds a level of validation and legitimacy to the content that's difficult to match in commercial ecosystems.
  • Why short video?
Podcasting has become saturated. Social media has narrowed attention spans. Generative AI is eroding contrent authenticity. Short videos offer a compelling format that delivers quick hits of information while building trust in the presenter. We request that members of the Expert Group refrain from using deep fake tech other than to provide an example to reinforce an editorial point.
  • Why Canadian experts?
Showcasing Canada's world-class AI ecosystem is core to Ask AI's mission. So long as you are Canadian, or working in Canada, you're eligible to join the Expert Group.
  • Will my logo and links be included?
Yes, we include your logo, bio, and backlinks in the video itself and in the postings to our blog, newsletter, and social media.
  • Are the recordings talking head only?
Not at all. In fact we encourage presenters to include visual aids such as diagrams, websites, photos, and slides. If adding images and other assets is not practical during recording, Ask AI can add them during editing.
  • Can I use avatars or deep fake technology?
Somewhat ironically, no. The Expert Group program intended to help contributors build their reputation as trusted leader in AI. Demonstrating examples is fine, but using a digital twin for the primary content is not conducive to achieving that outcome.
  • Can I mention my company or project?
Yes, but only if necessary to add important context to your insight. Remember that your logo, bio, and links will already be added to the video and social postings by the Ask AI team. Keep your videos focused on the insight you're trying to share.
  • Can I start and stop while recording?
Yes, we will remove the unwanted takes in editing. But be clear what you want deleted during recording.
  • Are microphones important?
Yes! Whether recording from your phone or laptop it is essential to use a good microphone. We often say the secret to great video is excellent audio. If recording outdoors or at an event, use a lavalier mic which can be purchased for <$20.
  • Can I record using my phone?
Absolutely. Phones are perfect for recording insights from events, labs, and other remote locations. But please be sure to hold your phone in the landscape position (important for posting to LinkedIn) and use a lavalier mic.
