Toronto's Cohere is a natural language processing (NLP) platform that provides Machine Learning engineers and product developers with access to cutting-edge language generation technology to help them build (or augment) digital solutions with read and write capabilities.
In a major announcement for Canada's AI sector, the company recently revealed that it has raised $125M USD in a Series B round led by Tiger Global, with participation from founding investor Radical Ventures and returning investors Index Ventures and Section 32. The latest round brings Cohere’s total funding to over $170M USD and sets them up to compete on a global stage with the likes of Open AI's GPT-3.
Cohere also recently announced that Bill MacCartney, a former technology leader at Apple, has joined the their team as Vice President of Engineering and Machine Learning and will spearhead the opening of the company’s new Palo Alto office.
